CNU Student Portal now accessible to Normalites

Coping with the new normal system, Cebu Normal University has now launched its official student portal, allowing undergraduate and graduate students to view their grades online anytime they want, from the comfort of their homes.

The university’s official Facebook Page posted an announcement last November 10, providing a link that the students can click to access the newly opened student portal.

According to the CNU Data Protection Officer, Mr. Omar Roma, the student portal has been fully functional since September this year but still sought the approval of the University Administrative Council to make it available online.

The online student portal is similar to the student kiosk as the interface is very much the same and also provides services for students, one of which is the viewing of grades.

Roma added that they are currently working on incorporating more transactions for the portal, such as online enrolment, by next year.

Relief and Difficulties

Efril P. Apas, a second-year BSEd Social Studies student, expressed her relief upon hearing the launching of the student portal.

“I feel relieved and satisfied that from time to time we can access it when we need it. Before, I find it hard to request for a scholastic record for my scholarship because of the time and process it takes, so it's a good thing we can now access the student portal,” she said.

Although most of the students were able to browse through their grades, some have encountered difficulties while accessing it.

“It crashed a bit but after a while I got to check, some subjects were missing and I couldn’t see all of my grades,” Audrey Antoinette U. Donaldo, a third-year BPED student said.

In relation to this, a faculty evaluation form that is included in the system must be answered first as a requirement before students can completely view their grades.

All students may log-in, including those who enrolled this semester as long as they have already registered in the Student Kiosk prior to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) health crisis.

The official student portal can also be found on the CNU website at www.cnu.edu.ph, under the Registrar tab.
